Facing Addiction Ministries was developed to satisfy the need that came from our Breaking Addiction Meetings. The Thursday night B.A.M. meetings are the tip of the iceberg. During the week we help build connections between those who struggle with addictions, and those who can help.
Our focus also includes the loved ones of those who struggle with substance abuse problems. We believe that everyone has a deep need to feel like they belong, are loved, and accepted. When communities come together with the purpose of reaching out to the least and the lost they can meet this need. When we choose to walk with these individuals, we can lead them out of their isolation and darkness and into the light of a new day.
Facing Addiction Ministries (F.A.M.) has developed many relationships with local recovery programs, multiple churches, and bible study communities to help those in need. We also have a very extensive list of county and state funded resources to help with practical needs.
Through the Breaking Addiction Meetings and churches, we get to know individuals and their struggles well enough to make suggestions toward resources in those areas. We never want to hand a list of resources to an individual and wash our hands of it.
How We Minister to People
Facing Addiction Ministries is dedicated to getting to know the person, and also to have a relationship with the programs, churches, meetings, facilities and so on before placing an individual into a situation that does not work for them.
We have a growing list of online resources that are available to anyone. We are also compiling a list of other meetings in the area, which can be seen on the second calendar HERE. These include AA, NA and independent church meetings.
For more personal and in-depth resources we ask you to CONTACT US, or even come to a meeting and talk to one of our leaders so we can get to know you and your situation. This will allow us to direct you to the best assistance and resources.
Facing Addiction Ministries was inspired by Psalm 139:7-12
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
Ten even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
