In Battle Together

There Are times that the Lord lays things on our hearts that we may struggle to contend with. Maybe we are being drawn to something that we should not be, drawn to things that make us nervous because they are new, or simply are unsure of the unknown. In trying to have faith and follow what the Lord wants for us, the devil can still play on our minds and we need to be acutely aware of this.

I have personally found that when I do not think I am feeling weak, that is when the devil gets in and confuses my mind to mess with my heart. The Lord lays on my heart what to do, but my mind gets so easily confused and ideas can easily get twisted. God will make this clear to us when this is happening, and I am learning more and more with each passing lesson to really lean into what the Lord is telling me to do next. Our brains will tell us that we don’t need to do certain things and that we are okay… But is this our brain or is this the devil? This could very easily be both. All I know for sure is that when I am wrestling with something I need to go to somebody that I trust and ask for prayer. I need to pray for myself. I need to get into the full armor of God and prepare for the battle of spiritual warfare, should that be necessary. I believe that when we lean into what the Lord wants us to do and we just follow what he is laying on our hearts, your battles can be won.

However… We are not meant to fight these battles alone. Often times, as addicts and just simply by human nature, we turn inwards, getting quiet and isolating ourselves. This is the enemy trying to get to us and twist us up. The only way to fight these things is listed above and to work against those isolation ideas and that we are okay and strong enough on our own. We need God, we need the community He puts in our lives, and we need prayer.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

I urge you to seek assistance and advice if you are going through a battle of mind versus heart. If you feel the enemy is pulling on you and you know that something is wrong, don’t try to go at it alone. When we are in this together, we strengthen each other and put up a united battlefront With the Lord our God as our leader.

Blessings, Kait
